This custom B Trp 7-17 Cav Belt Buckle was created for the Scalphunters serving overseas.
SIZE: 2.5" x 3.75"
MATERIAL: Zinc-alloy body, antique brass finish
DESIGN: Curved face, 3-D design
The front of the buckle displays the Scalphunter design with wraparound text which includes the unit motto, "Eyes With Teeth", "RVN" (Republic of Vietnam) and "OEF" (Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan).
The back of the buckle has the following verse from Fiddler's Green:
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers’ Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he’s emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers’ Green.
