New! Civil War style Yellow Cavalry Hat Cords. One size yarn cords available in red, yellow, blue, and red/white (worn by Indian Scouts for the U.S. Army). These are also sometimes referred to as hobbles, hat cords, hat bands, hat braids, hat straps, or acorns.

These cords were originally US Army issued hat cords for the US Army Cavalry Dress Hat, also known as the Jeff Davis Hat or Hardee Hat. The originals were made of worsted wool. These were issued with the Hardee hats, which were technically dress hats, but were worn in the field, often being altered into more comfortable hats or replaced by non-regulation slouch hats procured by the soldiers.
