Army Chief of Staff, General Schoomaker, visited the 101st. Airborne Division in Iraq last August. Gen. Peter Schoomaker pinned a purple heart on the uniform of 101st. soldier Spec. Rebecca Macintyre in Iraq Aug.9. Schoomaker swore in reenlisting troops and awarded coins for outstanding performance during his visit ......................InAugust, the Iraqi army stood up its fifth division headquarters, the halfway mark for its goal of 10 divisions. In September, the 101st Airborne Division colors officially returned to Fort Campbell from Iraq. The Army released its new advertising campaign, ARMY STRONG, to its internal audience in October and announced the public release was scheduled for November. Also in October, vice president Dick Cheney visited Fort Campbell to welcome troops home from Iraq.
