US Army Sgt. Michael Minard, 28, of Union Beach, NJ was severely injured
October 1st, 2007 while serving his country on his 3rd deployment to Iraq.
Sgt. Minard sacrificed both his legs due to an IED roadside bomb while with
the 1-2 SCR Stryker Brigade.
He has been @ Walter Reed AMC recovering since Oct 2007 and now we have
to help him come home to a handicap accessible home in New Jersey.
CONSTRUCTION IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY TO BUILD A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE HOME
FOR SGT. MINARD & HIS FAMILY IN UNION BEACH, NJ. The first step was to
demolish the old home, the next step is to build the new home.
Dates of the “Marathon Build Brigade” will be August 5th through the 9th.
There will be a ceremony on Thursday August 6th with the Mayor of Union
Beach and the press at 8:30 a.m. Building to start at 9 a.m. sharp.
It is really a lot more complicated, for instance, they are pouring the
concrete this week. The “Marathon Build Brigade” is to get the bulk of the
house built quickly, then there will be months of work on the wiring,
plumbing, outfitting, and finishing as you can imagine. Help is needed for
all phases of the project.
