26th Cavalry Regimental Crossed Sabers - Standard Size

The Regiment was organized in 1922 from personnel transferred from the 25th Field Artillery which in turn had been formed from personnel of the 4th Philippine Infantry and the 45th Infantry. The 26th Cav was part of the U.S. Army Forces Far East's Philippine Detachment during World War II. The 26th Cav Philippine Scouts, the "Twilight Riders", engaged in the last horse Cavalry charge in the history of the U.S. Cavalry, led by Col. Edwin Ramsey, a lieutenant at the time.
